Summary
Assists in the administration of the Teller area. Prepares reports, schedules, cash items, and audits. Can serve as trainer for new tellers and provides on-going training. Provides the on-site leadership for enhancing a positive teamwork environment and is responsible for focusing our tellers’ activities on directives and bank goals. Performs regular teller duties.
Essential Duties
- Schedules and monitors daily activities of tellers.
- Works with Branch Manager to hire, train, direct, and evaluate employee performance within the department; recommends promotions, and transfers. Reports performance problems and recommends action to correct, including termination.
- Monitors department activities for compliance with established policy and regulations. Takes action to resolve any out of compliance issues.
- Orders daily cash requirement for the credit union. Manages vault cash.
- Makes certain that the department is providing friendly, professional, personal service to all members.
- Makes certain that on average, tellers balance at least 95% of the time, being no more than $5 off, with total outages not to exceed $20 in a 3-month period.
- Keeps management informed regarding key operating issues affecting the department.
- Maintains a professional work environment and businesslike appearance.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities for assigned staff in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and solving problems.
- Responsible for implementing branch goals and individual goals based and the annual credit union strategic plan, and motivating subordinates in such a way as to help attain those goals.
- Handle any member issues/problems which have been escalated by staff and resolve to the benefit of the member and the credit union.
- Coach all staff on customer service as well as referrals.
- Perform observations of tellers.
- Perform weekly meetings with tellers.
- Assist with and/or oversee branch audit and reports.
- Promote and cross-sell credit union products and services to new and existing members.
- Process all checks, savings bonds, money orders, and cashier’s checks for deposit and make certain that all negotiable items are scanned.
- Make certain Night Drop is checked daily under dual control. Deposits verified under dual control and logged with both employees’ initials.
- Make certain Regulation CC guidelines are followed for check holds.

Education/Experience
- A high school education or GED.
- Two years to five years of similar or related experience.

Summary
Responsible for maintaining the vault cash through periodic cash orders and daily balancing. Applies prudent cash management practices. Ensures that each teller has adequate cash to meet daily operational demands. To assist members with their financial transactions, involving paying and receiving cash and other negotiable instruments. Essential Duties
- To assure member service is top priority whether internally or externally; treat members and employees professionally with courtesy and respect. Keeps our “Value Proposition” to our members.
- Maintains the vault cash through periodic cash orders. Balances and provides tellers with funds to ensure sufficient cash is on hand to provide for daily member needs.
- Maintains and balances ATMs, balances ATM GL’s daily, and processes daily ATM deposits.
- Receives and processes member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments; sells money orders and travelers’ checks to members; transfers amount from member accounts as directed.
- Welcomes members and provides routine information concerning services and directs members to appropriate department for specific information and service.
- Post transactions to member accounts and maintains member records.
- Balances cash drawer and daily transactions.
- Cross sells credit union services.
- Troubleshoots and resolves member and internal inquiries in a timely, friendly, and accurate manner.
- All other duties as assigned by management.
